Former Ghana midfielder Sola Ayew claims every team need undisciplined players to thrive in the wake of coach Kwesi Appiah's decision to yank the Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan from his current squad.
The two players have been frozen out of the team amid suspicion of feigning an injury during a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Congo last year.
Ghana's 1-0 defeat to Kenya in Nairobi has sparked a wave of criticism with some fans calling for the immediate return of the duo alongside captain Asamoah Gyan.
Coach Kwesi Appiah has parried the attacks, insisting the players remain part of his plans.
But the Ghanaian gaffer has been accused of failing to manage star players in his squad and Sola Ayew, uncle of Andre and Jordan has urged Appiah to learn to manage egos.
“Most of the renowned players today are indisciplined and you cannot stop it,” he told Asempa FM.
“You can talk about the likes of Maradona, Shamo Quaye and other people but they always bring results.
“When you tell a player to come to training at 14:00GMT and comes late, you don’t sack the player but you manage the player.
“We the Ayew family are like that and during the playing days of Abedi Pele, two days before a match he will not talk to any player and that has been his secret,” he added.
