Exchequers of Bank of Ghana (pictured) and Extinguishers of the National Fire Service arrived in South Africa on Tuesday March 18 to tune-up for the impending Africa Cup for Club Champions Competition which pushes-off on Monday March 24. Both Clubs have plunged into serious work-outs to familiarise themselves with the water-based turf.
Exchequers are drawn in a Group that comprise of Wanderers (SA), BAC (Zim), Yobe Desert Rollers (Nig) and Gabarone (Botwana) in a 2 Group competition. The other Group comprise of Defending Champions Police Union of Egypt, EL Sayedeen (Egy), Kisimu Simba (Ken) and Unam (Nam). The Group winners clash for the gold on Sunday March 30. The women's competition is a straight league system comprising of 5 teams with the top 2 clubs clashing for the Gold March 30.
The moral in the camp of both clubs is high and the coaches and managers are leaving nothing to chance in their bid to secure a double gold for Ghana. Both clubs will face South African opposition on the first day of competition, and the coaches have assured the Ghanaian delegation that their clubs will be alive to the challenge.
