The Ghana under 21 Men’s Hockey team has being invited for a five Nations friendly Tournament in Egypt.
The coach for the team Henry Fynn explained to Happy Sports that, South Africa is suppose to represent Ghana along side Egypt the Silver Medalist but information at hand states that South African Hockey Federation rejected the invitation because they supposed they are rather preparing for the on-coming African Tournament in Ghana this June/July 2009. Nevertheless Ghana as the Bronze medalist in last year’s African under 21 Championship held in Egypt, conversely have being called upon to participate in the international friendly. Coach Fynn disclosed that, Egypt as the host country, Ghana, Italy Pakistan and Russia are the participating countries. Meanwhile, eighteen players and two coaches will leave the country on the 17th of March 2009 for Egypt and represent Ghana.
