Hockey: Africa Under-21 Competition Pushes-Off Friday

The Africa Hockey Federation (AfHF) under-21 competition for both boys and girls will push-off on Friday July 11 2008 at the National Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

According to the fixtures released by the Federation, the first match of the competition which will commence at 08:00hours local time will involve the girls and will pitch the hosts Egypt against the favourites, South Africa. In between, there will be various matches with Ghana playing West African rivals Nigeria at noon in the girls’ competition.

The last match of the day will push-off at 20:00hour local time as Ghana and Kenya slug it out in a battle for supremacy.

A colourful ceremony is expected to herald the opening of the 9-day fiesta which will determine the 2 countries in each division that represent the continent at the 2009 Junior World Cup to be jointly hosted by Singapore and Malaysia. The full match schedule is as follows:
