Veterans once again proved to their arch rivals Citizens, that their win over them last week was not a fluke, as they again defeated them by 2-1 in the 11th week matches of the Senior Division of the Greater Accra IPMC Hockey League played last Saturday at the National Hockey Pitch. Citizens came into the match with revenge on their mind and demonstrated that they were determined to give Veterans a sound thrashing. To their dismay however, their rival proved to be better psyched for the match, and left their opponents in no doubt that they were in the match to win. It was a defeat Citizens would not like to remember for a very long time as the back-to-back result shifted the bragging rights into the court of Veterans.
In the Men A-League, Reformers last Saturday played an attractive hockey, only to be muscled by hardworking League Leaders CEPS, who had only recorded a single defeat in the league. CEPS won by three goals to two. In another encounter, Exchequers also failed to capitalise on an early goal lead dropping two points in their match against Marine Sticks. Both teams searched for a winner, and had chances to clinch a win but failed woefully ending the entertaining game in a stalemate . In the ladies division, CEPS exhibited skill and pace and constantly threatened their opponents Reformers of Ghana Prisons. Reformers held their nerves to stay in the match to earn a well deserved 3-3 draw.
