Accra, Dec. 6, GNA - Edmund Aryetey, head coach of Trustees Hockey Club, has said his side has embarked on thorough and adequate preparations towards the 23rd Africa Hockey Clubs Championship to be hosted by Ghana Speaking in an interview with the GNA Sports, the coach pledged an outstanding performance in the competition and said even though they started training on a slow note the players are gradually catching up with the training regimen, which he said was a positive sign for the team.

"I believe we will be in a perfect shape for the competition, because my players have for the past weeks responded positively to the tactical directions we have been working on". He said.

The coach also noted that the playing body is presently injury free, after few of them battled with malaria and minor injuries two weeks ago, adding that the absence of injuries and other discomforts is bringing the best out of the players.

Aryetey said, "with an injury free team, we have no excuse than to put up our best in the competition". "We lost 0-1 narrowly to Sharkia in Kenya in the last competition, but we believe we are armed to the teeth to beat them this time and go ahead to win the competition." He declared.

The championship, which is the 23rd edition, will attract teams including Sharkia and Police from Egypt, Strathmore University of Kenya, Niger Flickers and Yobi Desert from Nigeria and Trustees and Golden Sticks from Ghana battling for supremacy. The female category has Extinguishers and Reformers (Ghana), Heartland and Yobi Queens (Nigeria) as well as the defending champions, Telecom (Kenya) and Sharkia all seeking for honours. 06 Dec. 10
