LOC of Africa Hockey Federation to honour 25 institutions

Accra, April 14, GNA - The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the forthcoming African Hockey Federation (AfHF) Cup of Nations, will on Friday, April 17, honour 25 institutions for their immense support towards the development of the sport in the country. Magnus Rex Danquah, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the LOC pf the AfHF Cup of Nations in a statement copied to GNA Sports said the awards ceremony forms part of the LOC's overall plan to rekindle corporate enthusiasm and national pride towards the hosting of the tourney.
"This, we believe will do much to position the country and the LOC sufficiently to rally corporate Ghana towards lifting our dear nation's image higher through this tournament.
"In addition to football, it will as well imbue the sense of belonging and the desire to participate into the people and institutions that will be relied upon to the success of the tournament." The recipient companies include institutional partners such as Bank of Ghana, Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) Limited, SIC Insurance Company Limited, Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Internal Revenue Services (IRS), NDK Financial Services, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Army, Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Ghana Prisons Service and Customs, Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS).
The rest are IPMC, Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, Toyota Ghana Limited, Beverages Investment Ghana Limited, Mobitel/Tigo, MTN, Volta River Authority, Atlantic Ports Services, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority and SG-SSB Ghana Limited. The others are Veterans Hockey Club, Citizens Hockey Club and MultiStix Hockey Club.
The tournament, which will feature male and female categories has been billed for July. 14 April 09
