Karatist to dedicate medals to President

Accra, April 21, GNA - Jerry Agiri Williams, a 22 year old karatist who recently won five medals in three separate karate competition in the United States of America (USA) has decided to dedicate his medals to the President, John Agyekum Kufour.

He said his decision to dedicate the medals to the president in view of the President's immense contribution towards the development of lesser known sports in the country.


Agiri Williams who won two gold and bronze medals each and a silver medal in the Kenjutsuryu Karate Invitational Tournament, Shai Mesa Competition and Ozawa Cup International Karate Championship respectively is expected in the country on Tuesday, April 27.


Mr Frank Ebo Sagoe, the Media Coordinator of the Karatist told the current administration.

He said Agiri William who is also a member of the national Karate-Do team and now the new Arizona Champion would hold the title till a new competition is staged next year.


Mr Andrews Sampoe-Parry, the private Manager of the karatist called on corporate bodies to come to his aid to enable him win more laurels for the nation.
