Joseph Mingle aka Nii Adotey Dzata1 has been elected unopposed as the new President of the Ghana Kick Boxing Federation.
He takes over from Col rtd J. E. Sharpe whose term of office has expired.
Other elected officers were Mr. Yoofi Boham, Vice President and Laud Akwei, Treasurer.
Other members of the new executive are Daniel Cudjoe, Patrick Kobi Mensah, Yakubu Abdul Razak and Patrick Owusu Ansah.
Dr. Chris Kpoda, a longtime lover of the sport retained his position as Counsel General and advised the new leaders to study their constitution and make amendments to suit the new trends of the sport.
Mr. Saka Akwei, Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority who sworn the new executives urged them to work hard to raise the image of the sport, and organize competitions to make Kickboxing attractive like football and boxing.
Nii Adotey Dzata in his acceptance speech thanked the delegates and promised to put kick boxing where it belongs.
He announced the construction of an arena for the sport and informed that very there would be weekly of fortnight fights at the beach.
Yoofi Boham, another veteran sports administrator and manager thanked those who attended the event and praised the media for supporting the least financed sports.
Doukrou Parfait, President of the West African KickBoxing Association (WAKA) who graced the congress congratulated the entire membership of the association and hoped that peace would reign for the sub region to have frequent bouts to develop the sport.
