Accra, June 9, GNA- Mr Emmanuel Baba Mahama, President of the Ghana Insurers Association, has observed that the true mark of a leader is a strategic thinker, who can influence people to Christ. Mr Mahama, who made the observation at the launch of the 40th Anniversary celebrations of the Youth Ambassadors for Christ Association (YAFCA) in Accra, said such a leader should possess functional competences in order to leave behind a legacy.

The launch was on the theme: "YAFCA-Forty Years of Training Ministers and Workers of the Kingdom of God." Mr Mahama, who is also the Chairman of the Graphic Communications Group Board of Directors, observed that the Christian of the 21st century is the one who know the call of God in his life, have functional competences, and takes them seriously.

He urged people in responsible positions to exhibit a high sense of integrity, headwork, respect, responsibility and moral uprightness, in their dealings with the people.

Dr John Owusu Afriyie, Founder and President of YAFCA, expressed joy and satisfaction that the good Lord has brought the Association so far, during its 40 years of existence. "For the past 40 years one Christian organisation, which has consistently but quietly been playing an influential role in the Christian community is YAFCA."

He said YAFCA, had, for the past 40 years, put out a number of Christian programmes, which had provided opportunities for training and subsequently equipping young people for the Christian ministry. Dr Afriyie pointed out that at 40, YAFCA was in its prime age, and therefore had a lot to offer the nation in the spread of the Gospel of Christ. He said YAFCA would soon establish a University to be known as the International College of Ministry, to train the youth to work in the Lord's vineyard.

Dr Oteng Adjei, Minister of Energy, and Dr Yaw Adu-Gyamfi Danpong, Chief Executive Officer of Danpong Group of Companies, who jointly chaired the function, urged Christians to make generous donations towards the building of God's Kingdom on earth.
