Sogakope (V/R), May 04, GNA - The South Tongu District branch of Afrikania Mission has held a three-day maiden convention at Sogakope over the weekend, which had the theme: "Nature Reveals Secrets to only Enlightened Minds for, Knowledge is Life and Resurrection." The convention brought together traditional Africa religious leaders and worshippers.

In a speech, the South Tongu District Chief Executive (DCE), Madam Cate Aku Aglah said religious practices should not be an obstacle that would prevent the populace for benefiting from secular education. She encouraged the members who are advanced in age who had no formal education to register with the National Functional Literacy Programme.

Madam Aku Aglah told the gathering that literacy classes are beneficial for all and help people to understand government policies better. She made a passionate appeal for them to ensure that government policies were sustained in the district.

The DCE said the forefathers of the nation left some valuable customs, which are good and some, which are bad. She said the good ones must be preserved in today's industrial world and therefore urged African traditional believers not to expose certain vital parts of females during such festive occasions.

The Afrikania Mission is a religious group that consists of African traditional believers.
