Mr. Aliu A Adam, Deputy Greater-Accra Regional President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, has underscored the need for Muslims to render services, and sacrifice to humanity irrespective of their religion, culture and political affiliations in accordance with the doctrines of Islam.
He said rendering such services would go a long way to entice other people to join the Islamic Religion.
Mr. Adam made the call when he addressed the closing ceremony of the 35th Annual Regional Ijtema’a (Rally) organized by the Central Regional East Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association at Agona Kwanyako.
The programme on the theme: “Religious Tolerance-The Panacea for World Peace,” was to sensitize the members on the need to know that all men were equal, to be fully abreast and conversant with the Doctrines/ Teachings of the Islamic Religion, and also to share their experiences.
It was attended by members of the nine circuits, namely,: Agona, Asikuma, Brakwa, Denkyira, Esiam, Gomoa Eshiem, Mando, Gomoa and Makrong Junction, which constitute the Central East Ahmadiyya Youth Association.
As part of this year’s rally, they earlier donated 70 pints of blood to the Ajumako Government Hospital, and donated some items to the inmates of the Osamkrom Prisons and the Ahmadiyya Hospital at Agona Swedru.
Mr. Adam urged the members to lead wholly blameless, pure and beneficent lives, which followed in the minutest detail the pattern that had been established by the Holy Prophet Mohammed.
Mr. Maulvi Mohammed Ehsan Noor, Central Regional East Missionary, urged the youth to utilize the knowledge and skills they had acquired as followers of the Holy Prophet Mohammed, to school their community members to always embrace peace and tranquility, to help bring sanity into the society.
He advised them to eschew all negative tendencies, sacrifice themselves towards the growth of the society they might find themselves in, be selfless and role models.
Mr. Mohammad Nayyarr, speaking on the theme, said as Islam stood for peace, they must always work towards achieving peace wherever they might find themselves, i and also tolerate divergent views in the interest of peace as per the doctrines of Islam.
The President of the Central East Association, MRr Nazir Ahmad Keelson said, as Islam stood for peace, encouraged the freedom of conscience, promoted human well-being, preached salvation and brotherhood, promoted tolerance, broad-mindedness, forbearance and complete harmony in a multi- religious society, there was the need for Muslims to advocate for the promotions of peace in the society, for humility to live as one people with a common goal to develop.
