The glamorous African Prestigious Awards event with the theme “Celebrating The Achievers Of Africa” was held at the AH Hotel Accra on the 14th of April 2018 and attracted the best of the best from Africa.
The event highlighted, recognised and rewarded all those with the ability to steer educational values, businesses and other projects through turbulent times, applying the best of business modules to manage and keep their mission afloat.
In a speech, the Executive Chairman of the EAD Group of Companies, the organisers of the Awards ceremony, Mr Emmanuel Gyau-Addo said, “Africa is the world’s second largest continent and the most endowed with natural resources yet the continent has faced many challenges dating back to the colonial ages through corruptible leadership hence the African Prestigious Awards was set up to help honour and also motivate both individuals and countries on the continent to rise up and help build the continent”.
The Awards recognised and honoured top fifteen countries that are doing well in economic development, four living heroes from these countries and lastly African owned organisations under the following categories, Entertainment, Business and Finance, Telecommunications, Media and oil and Gas.
All the fine exemplary leaders were mentioned of their impeccable leadership qualities, which are deemed to fit into Bation Building. Apostle Fred Osei Annin is the Founder and President of Actionplus Foundation a leading international HIV advocacy and campaigning organisation based both in the UK and in Ghana.
He opened Actionplus UK in 1997 and in 2017 he again opened Actionplus Foundation Ghana with the aim of campaigning against HIV stigma and discrimination towards people living with and those affected by the disease. Actionplus within eleven (11) years of its establishment in Ghana has managed to launch four major projects to reduce the spread of HIV infection in the country.
These include the National CHEP Programme “Campus HIV Educational Programme” with its headquarters at BOSO Senior High Technical School. Others are; the TANAH Project “Take Action Now against HIV and AIDS”, the KEFHAC project “Kwahu Easter Festival HIV and AIDS Campaign”” and finally HEALTH4LIFE. The module of these projects have become the cutting edge for HIV prevention Worldwide.
Apostle Fred Osei Annin has also won many national and international awards for his great achievements in championing the HIV campaign to prevent the spread of the infection both in the UK and in Africa.
