Tema, July 29, GNA- Apostle John Adotey, President of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, on Sunday urged Christians in the country to ensure peace and unity towards national development.

He also asked the clergy to lead the flock to righteousness because it was essential to justice, peace and social harmony. Apostle Adotey said these in a sermon after ordaining eight members of the Church at Tema into various offices of the religious body. They were Dr Aaron Ami-Narh an Apostle, Pastor Aryeetey Togoe, a Prophet, Pastor Joseph Sam, a Teacher, Albert Narh Sackey, Gabriel Adjigbli and John Nkegbe, Pastors.

Elders Kwabena Attafua Ankamah and Isaac Kwabena Antwi both lawyers were also made pastors. Apostle Adotey charged the officers to be loyal to the Church and not to consider their positions as a "gold mine" through which they would enrich themselves.

He said the Church would discipline them if they go contrary to its doctrine and code of ethics and asked them to seek the anointing of the Holy Spirit so as to be able to withstand challenges in the course of their duties. Apostle Adotey also warned them against backbiting, peddling rumours because it could bring disunity and hampers the development of the Church.
