The Ashaley Botwe branch of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church founded in 1989 has celebrated its Silver Jubilee anniversary in Accra on the theme “Led by the Lord”.

Reverend Dr E.K. Amegbletor, the District Pastor, congratulated the entire membership of the Church for their dedication, selfless, goal oriented, generous and faith based service for Christ.

He also paid homage to the founding members of the church who laid the foundation, saying their toils had not been in vain but fruitful.

He said Silver Jubilee was very important to the life of any organisation and the Church was grateful to God for achieving that feat.

“As we celebrate this Silver Jubilee, let us remember our religious, economic, social and moral values and so be grateful to God and live a fruitful, purposeful, meaningful and proactive life to the glory of God. We are to be hopeful, industrious, and eloquent in proclaiming the goodness of God to all and sundry,” he said.

Rev Dr Amegbletor also urged the congregation to eschew all forms of speeches and actions that would grieve the Lord but rather be filled with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to lead them in all aspect of their life.

“Being Led by the Lord is both a privilege and a responsibility for us to achieve more for Him,” he said.

In her sermon, Mrs Emmah Dzoe called on Christians to unite and win more souls for Christ.

She expressed regret that classes of people had been created in churches and said this did not help to promote the gospel of Christ and called for the disbandment of such classes in churches.

For achieving the Silver Jubilee, the name of the Church was changed to Great Tower Congregation.
