The Assemblies of God (AG) Church at weekend ordained five pastors into the Christ Ministry at a ceremony in Sunyani. The full time pastors are Reverends Janet Mabon, 46, Samuel Oppong Gyamfi, 43, Seth Nti Anane, 65, Emanuel Quaye, 56, and Johnson Nuako Nyametumi, 34.

Rev Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, General Superintendent of the AG, asked the newly ordained ministers to see their calling as divine and work to win more souls for Christ. He noted that almost 70 percent of the Ghanaian population professed to be Christians and yet sin.

Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso explained why pastors and men of God ought to be convinced of their calling before they enter into active ministry. He emphasized that Christ ministry is full of hardships and persecutions and it would take holy and committed men of God to endure such challenges from the beginning to the end.

“The church will grow very fast if pastors preach unadulterated doctrine and ensure regular devotional life to be more sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit for guidance”, he added.

Rev John Felix Yeboah, Brong-Ahafo Regional Superintendent of the AG said for the pastors to fulfil their calling and ministry, they ought to stand against worldliness and preach the word of God in boldness.

He advised the pastors to remain faithful to the church and their families and also give themselves to incessant prayers as well as studying of the word of God. Rev Yeboah entreated members of the church to support the newly ordained ministers spiritually and materially to enable them fulfil the demands on them as ministers of God.
