The Eastern Regional branch of the Assemblies of God Church has initiated moves to educate their Pastors and church members on how to respond to any terrorist attack on the church.

The Church intends to teach the members to be alert to easily identify strangers who join the congregation, as part of the efforts of the church to protect its members from any terrorists attack.

This was disclosed by Reverend Dr Stephen Ohipeni, Eastern Regional Superintendent of the church in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on measures being taken by the church in the wake of terrorist threats to attack religious institutions in the country at Koforidua.

He said the church is also training ushers to be able to identify small arms and ammunition on people who enter the church premises.

Rev Ohipeni said the church would collaborate with the police in the security training and would be extended to the teachers of the church’s schools to prevent kidnapping of the school children.

The Superintendent Minister said the security training would also be extended to all the priests of Assemblies of God schools in the region.
