Kumasi, May 18, GNA - The Bantama branch of the Seventh - day Adventist (SDA) Church at the weekend, donated food and assorted items to the Kumasi Cheshire Home. The items, worth several thousands of Ghana cedis, included bags of rice and sugar, confectionaries, cooking oil, second-hand clothing, toothpaste and brushes and a cash of GH¢200 Ghana cedis. Making the donation in Kumasi, Pastor Stephen Adusei, Minister in-charge of the church, appealed to the public not to discriminate against people with disabilities but rather show compassion to them. He urged churches to make it a policy to donate to the needy in society on regular basis to improve their living standards. Mr Owusu Agyei, Administrator of the Home, thanked the church for the gesture and gave the assurance that the items would be put to good use to benefit the inmates.
