Bibiani (W/R), June 2, GNA - The Rev Monsignor Simon-Asamoah of the Bibiani Saint Theresah's Catholic Church has said Christians and Ghanaians in general should be wary of false prophets and evangelists who use the name of Christ to dupe people.
Likening the activities of those false prophets to the biblical Simon the Sorcerer, the clergyman said they had succeeded in defrauding substantial number of people.
Monsignor Simon-Asamoah told the GNA in an interview that Christians needed to scrutinise the identity of those who pose as prophets and evangelists and be bold to question them.
"The gospel is not meant for sale but to advance the cause of mankind."
He appealed to church leaders not to lord it over their members but serve them with humility and respect.
Monsignor Simon-Asamoah appealed to churches to join forces and campaign against social vices.
