Boadua (E/R), Aug. 17, GNA-Right Reverend Col (RTD) Paul A. Blewu, the Methodist Bishop of the Akyem Oda Diocese, has observed that priesthood is a calling from God and that those who are not called should not enter it.
He noted that many people went into the priesthood for the purposes of wealth, power and other reasons.
The Bishop made the observation in a sermon at the opening of the Freeman Methodist Mission House at Boadua, near Akwatia.
He said the attraction to worldly possessions had made some people to turn to priesthood and some of them had become a disgrace to the clergy.
Bishop Blewu said most of those priests could be found at the “one-man” churches and had absolute control of their churches and were answerable to no one.
He noted they cheat and indulge in all sorts of vices to satisfy their lust and said they would one day account for their stewardship.
Touching on homosexuality, the bishop said it was a sin against God and unnatural and those who practiced it were worse than animals.
That was why all the religious bodies in Ghana were condemning the practice and admonishing homosexuals and lesbians to change from their evil ways because gayism was the work of the devil.
Speaking on the theme, “God’s Loves for All People”, Bishop Blewu said God had Graces for all and humanity should believe and have faith in him.
He asked Christians to go out and preach the word of God to change people from their evil ways.
