In a powerful demonstration of faith and community spirit, the management and congregation of Christ Apostolic Church Int. Bantama Central have made a generous donation to the Kumasi Children’s Home, Destitute Infirmary in Bekwai-Ash, and Remar Rehabilitation Centre in Edwenase, Kumasi, following a 40-day period of fasting and prayer.
This act of kindness has brought great joy and relief to these three organizations, reaffirming the church’s commitment to serving the community and supporting those in need.
The fasting period observed by the church congregation was a time of deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and collective prayer.
For 40 days, church members committed themselves to fasting, seeking spiritual growth and strengthening their connection with their faith.
This period was not only a time of personal and communal growth but also an opportunity to focus on the needs of others, especially the less fortunate.
On the day of the donation, the church, led by the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Samuel Amponsah-Frimpong, and the Area Head Pastor, Rev. Christopher Kwabena Narh, gathered in a heartfelt ceremony to present their gifts.
These included several bags of rice, cooking oil, detergents, confectioneries, toiletries, and other assorted items valued at approximately GHC 60,000.00, as well as an undisclosed amount of money.
The church also donated several second-hand clothes to support mission work for the church branches in the Savanna Region.
“We fasted and prayed for 40 days, seeking guidance and strength. Today, we put our faith into action by supporting these less fortunate organizations. This donation is a testament to the love and compassion that flow within our community,” Apostle Samuel Amponsah-Frimpong said.
Hon. Oti Prempeh, who received the items on behalf of the Remar Rehabilitation Centre, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the church.
“This donation means the world to us. The generosity of the Bantama Central Assembly and her partners will have a lasting impact on the lives of the children in the orphanage and those in the destitute and rehabilitation centres. We are incredibly thankful for their support and the love they have shown,” he said.
He encouraged other faith-based organizations to emulate this gesture by the church.
