Junior Chamber international (JCI) Africa and Middle East senate in collaboration with JCI Accra royale is embarking on a project entitle ‘Fight against Malaria, Cholera and light for the needy’ across the country.
The project forms part of the activities marking the 100year celebration of JCI (worldwide).Malaria according to the chamber has been identified as the most prevalent disease in many of the regions in the country.
Senator veronica Mills Lamtey President, JCI Africa and Middle east senate disclose to modernghana online.com that, the project content, consist of solar light to supply10 hour of light daily, a mosquito trap with a portable inverter to store more power as well as sanitizing machines for rural hospital and community centre across the nation.
She saidthe project aims to impact on the 1 people of Ghana especially at this time of electricity challenge.
According to her the mosquito trap are very effective and would help prevent and eradicate malaria.
Henry Giessenbier Jr. said JCI movement,growing into what is now a global movement of impact reaching across more than 100 countries to more than 5, 000communities.
According to her JCI is a membership driven voluntary organization that brings together young activecitizens aged between 18 and 40.
The mission of JCI she said is to provide developmental opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
JCI is affiliated with the UN especially to implement the MDG’s inrunning project that addresses community challenges and opportunities.The project would be extended to the countries in the sub region.
‘To be able to sustain a laudable feat, it is our hope that wewill get on board corporates and philanthropistwho would assist in helping JCI Accra Royale in helping us obtain these items to help the needy in our communities’ she said.
Some of the mosquito trap was presented to journalist who was at the function for evidence and for usage.
