Tema, Sept 29, GNA - Delegates from all the six branches of the Christian Love Thy Neighbour Society (CLTNS), a benevolent religious organisation of Ewes in Ho, Denu, Keta, Tema, Ashaiman and Accra, in Tema at the weekend, installed Mr Peter Victor Kofi Chissey, an 82-year old building contractor as its President. Also installed as Vice President was a 63-year old Detective Police Officer at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Accra, Mr Harry Jones Korku Agbemenu.

The installation of the two officers coincided with the 40th National Delegates' Congress of the Society, which gave members the opportunity to take stock of their performances during last year, and to chart a new course for the ensuing year. Reverend Roger Nukunu Hedidor, Chaplain at Chemu Senior High School in Tema, who administered the oath of office, reminded the two officers that they were only first among equals, and should therefore dedicate themselves to the welfare of members at all times. Rev Hedidor asked them to foster Christian fellowship, mutual understanding, unity and love, among members. "Do not do anything that will bring disunity among members," he exhorted the officers.

Mr Samuel Avuletey, member of NAC, who performed the installation, asked the President and his vice, not to lord it over the members, but to provide exemplary leadership at all times. In an acceptance speech, Mr Chissey assured members of an efficient administration, and asked for their fullest co-operation. He advised members to do away with divisive tendencies, and forge ahead in unity and love, to enable the society to grow from strength to strength.
