The Half-Assini Catholic Church in the Western Region has received a new set of Brass Band musical instruments valued several hundreds of Ghana Cedis.
They include One Bass, Three Snares & Two Tenor drums, Two Trumpets, Four Trombones and Maracas.
The donation was from the family of late Madam Mary Numuah Tawiah, a devout member of the Church who died last year.
Mr Philip Armah, son of the late madam Tawiah who made the presentation on behalf of his siblings at Church Service said the gesture was to commemorate the first anniversary of the demise of their mother.
Mr Armah said the gesture was also in fulfilment of a pledge the family made to the church for its immense contributions during the burial and final funeral rites of their mother.
He appealed to the church for proper care of the instruments to enjoy more of such benefits in future.
Reverend Father Michael Owusu, Parish Priest on behalf of the Church expressed profound gratitude to the donors for the gesture. He said the items would be put to good use and that it would go a long way to promote the programmes and activities of the church.
The late Madam Tawiah who died at the age of 85, and buried on January 13 last year was a cousin of Ghana's First President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
