Catholic Women Association assists St Theresa’s Minor Seminary

Members of the Cape Coast Diocese Catholic Women Association (CWA), at the weekend donated food items worth GH¢ 1,000.00 to the students of the St Theresa’s Minor Seminary at Amisano near Elmina in the Central Region.

The items, include gallons of palm and vegetable oils, bags of rice, maize, sugar, gari, smoked fish, plantain, tubers of yam, charcoal, cartons of milk, loaves of bread, Milo, soap and toiletries as well as undisclosed amount of money, in support of the students’ upkeep and their general welfare.

Mrs Janet Enin, Diocesan Organiser of the Association, called on the students to take their studies seriously and also endeavour to lead responsible and disciplined lives.

She said the Catholic Church is looking up to them as the future priests of the church and they should not disappoint the leadership of the Catholic Church by not engaging in vices that would bring the name of the school and the church to disrepute.

She said as seminarians they should lead lives that would make them responsible priest or personalities in future.

Mrs Enin asked them to remain focus, humble and give their teachers the needed respect, adding that leading a humble and simple life would make them true Catholic priests in future.

Reverend Father Michael Martin Panful, Rector of the Seminary, who received the items on behalf of the students, thanked the Association for the gesture and stated that it would go a long way to help with the feeding of the students.

She commended the association for its regular support to the school, noting that it is only CWA that visit the seminary twice in a year.

The school has a current population of 122 students and nine tutors.
