Christ Apostolic Church International elects leaders

The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), has elected a seven-member Executive Council, chaired by Apostle Dr Stephen Amoani, to steer the Church’s affairs in evangelism, missions and social responsibility for the next four years.

Apostle Emmanuel O. K. Donkor is the General Secretary; Apostle J.J. Obuor – Field Director; Apostle Joseph Saky – Christian Education Director; Apostle William K. Amaning – Missions Director; Prophet James Awuniselya – Prophetic Director; while the Reverend Ebo Baiden is the Evangelism Director.

They were elected at the 58th Session of the Ministerial and General Council Meeting of the Church, in Ho, with all being returned unopposed, except the Evangelism Director whose seat had become vacant because his predecessor stepped down.

The meeting was held on the theme: “Impacting Our World through a Transformed Life”.

Accepting the opportunity to serve the Church again in such privileged positions, Apostle Amoani said their vision was to invest in winning about 100,000 more souls annually for the Kingdom of God through intensive evangelism programmes and planting of churches.

The Church’s population is now 1,150,404.

The Council, he said, would also lead the Church to undertake human development activities, infrastructural development projects and to plan for the Church’s centenary celebration.

He said the humanitarian activities through the Church’s NGO, the Christ Apostolic Agency for Relief and Development, (CAARD) to create opportunities for business development, job and wealth creation as the Church’s contribution to national development would be strengthened.

“Over the years CARRD has contributed in many ways such as giving donations to deprived communities, health institutions, and especially developing the human capital of farmers in the deprived communities in Ghana,” he said.

“It is the vision of the Executive Council to extend the activities of CAARD in other regions in Ghana”.

Last year, CAARD organised training sessions for more than 3,539 farmers comprising 2018 men, and 1521 women, to enhance their cassava products.

The CAARD also facilitated the development of business plans and proposals for cassava farmers to access a credit facility of GH¢200,000.00 from Value Chain Financing Company to support their cassava and processing.

“The Christ Apostolic Church directly employs a total workforce of 1,186 comprising of Reverend Ministers, lay workers, teaching and non-teaching staffs at our basic schools, lecturers at the University,” he said.

Apostle Amoani said the Church would continue supporting brilliant but needy students to gain formal education, while it advanced its new school project – the La School project, an ultra–modern School Project, estimated to enrol over 1,000 pupils and students.
