Christian women urged to be selfless

Kumasi Feb. 11, GNA- Christian women have been urged to let their lifestyles impact positively in the communities in which they live. They should also be selfless and seek the welfare and needs of others in their communities

Reverend Otuo Acheampong, Chairperson of the Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), who made the call, said Christians should have passion for souls, which were perishing in their communities and help save them for Christ.

He was preaching the sermon at the end of the 32nd anniversary and thanksgiving service of the Asante Presbytery Women's Fellowship at Chirapatre in Kumasi on Sunday.

It was under the theme "Let Us Go On To Maturity". He said evangelism should be the prime concern of every Christian and urged members of the PCG to build upon the sacrifices of the early missionaries.

Reverend Otuo Acheampong also advised Christians to concern themselves with environmental sanitation in their communities by taking part in communal sanitation activities, while offering material and financial support to community project. He cautioned Christians against tribalism and discrimination and urged them to live in harmony in their communities to promote peace in the country.

Reverend Otuo Acheampong advised the women to work hard and seek expert advice in their businesses to ensure sustainability and growth. Mrs Victoria Priscilla Darkwa, President of the fellowship, said through member's contributions, the fellowship was putting up a retreat centre at Chirapatre to promote the spiritual growth of the members of the church.
