Kumasi, August 5, GNA - Christianity must be lived and not only professed, Dr Matthew Kyei, National President of the Rosicrucian Fellowship of Ghana has said. He said ignorance, famine, fear and diseases would be things of the past if "we live the Christian religion". Dr Kyei was delivering a lecture on the "Mission of Christ Jesus and the role of the Rosicrucian Fellowship" at the open day of the Kumasi Rosicrucian Fellowship Centre on Sunday. He noted that the Rosicrucian Order gave scientific, logical and exhaustive teachings in order that "man may believe in his heart that which his head sanctioned and start to live the religious life". Dr Kyei said in spite of the fact that Jesus came to Africa first, Africa was still lagging behind in development and attributed this to selfishness, fear, animism, brutalities and moral degradation instead of worshipping God in faith and in deed.
He said fellowship at the preparatory school teaches members to be self-reliant, loving, forgiving and service to others among other things.
Dr Kyei said good training helped people to differentiate between good and bad habits and therefore stressed the need for the government and society to think of drop-outs so that they did not become misfits. He said if education improved and children became well trained the many crimes and moral decadence in the country would be minimized. He said prayers were crucial to spiritual and physical development but added that while praying, people must also do good things and to help the nation to move forward. Mr Kwame Agyei-Mensah, President of the Centre, stressed the need for people to be selfless and be committed to the development of the country. He said it was only through this that the people and the nation would enjoy peace and development.
