Professor Stephen Adei, former Rector of the Ghana Institute for Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), said Christianity is not about the performance of miracles and wonders, which have become the order of the day.

He expressed regret that Christians were defining spirituality by the wrong measure, saying “spiritual persons are not those who perform wonders and miracles but those who behave the way Christ did”.

Prof Adei was presenting a paper on ‘Discipleship’ at the 56th Session of the Ministerial and General Council meeting of Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), taking place in Kumasi, on the theme: ‘Breaking into End Time Revival’.

The meeting is aimed at assessing activities of the previous year and to formulate policies for this year.

Prof Adei expressed concern that for the sake of tradition, the teachings of Christ were being set aside.

He called on the Church to change structures of worship to allow God to use worshipers us as an instrument of change and a point of contact not only to build churches but also the nation as a whole.

Apostle Dr Stephen Kwame Amoani, Chairman of CACI, appealed to the Christians to stick to the scripture as the principal guideline on which to build the Church.

Apostle Dr Emmanuel Osei Kwabena Donkor, General Secretary of CACI, asked the delegates to propagate the message and win more souls for Christ.

Other presentation covered the effects of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust pension scheme on the church and its workers.

Apostle Dr Michael Nimo, immediate past Chairman of CACI, led the delegates to pray for the Church, the country’s leaders, the security services and the nation.
