Tema, March 21, GNA - Members of the Tema Community 11 Apostolic Church on Friday held a service in commemoration of the death of Jesus Christ with a call on Christians to use the season to reflect and take stock of their lives.

Reverend Jeremiah Mensah, Pastor-in-Charge of the Church, urged Christians to assess themselves to ascertain whether they have shared the benefits of Christ's death with their fellow believers and non-Christians.

He admonished Ghanaians to reciprocate Jesus' kindness to mankind by exhibiting true love and care towards the needy, poor, orphans, neighbours and with the intention of uniting and forgiving each other of their differences to ensure continuous peace in the country. As the presidential and parliamentary elections draw nearer, Rev. Mensah called on politicians to work beyond their personal interest to achieve the best by going about their campaigns devoid of inflammatory comments, adding that the country is bigger than any political party. He impressed on the electorate not to encourage violence and insults during political rallies but rather exercise their franchise in peace during the election. Pastor Mensah asked Ghanaians not to allow partisan politics to separate them. "We have the ability to refuse what we don't like by exhibiting the right attitude and exposing evil". Calling on the youth to be patriotic, Rev Mensah said they must desist from embarking on unnecessary demonstration and indulging in social vices because doing so has the tendency of retarding progress of the nation spiritually and physically.
