Christians should be symbols of truth

Kumasi, April 2, GNA - Monsignor Raphael Owusu-Peprah of the Kumasi Metropolitan Catholic Archdiocese, has called on Christians to bear witness to the truth on daily basis to make society better off. Monsignor Owusu-Peprah made the call, during mass to mark Good Friday at the Saint Peter's Cathedral Basilica.

He said Christ's death was borne out of his love for humanity and the truth, hence the need for Christians to cherish these qualities in order to make a difference in the society and become good example to others. The mass was on the theme: "Look at how much I have loved you." Rev. Father Emmanuel Ayih of the church in a homily, said the suffering of Christ on the Cross bridged the gap between God and mankind - reconciling man with his creator.

Good Friday should therefore be a period for Christians to renew and strengthen their faith.

He called on Ghanaians to do away with postures reflecting pride, arrogance, laziness and hatred and instead hold high the values of humility, hard work, love and sacrifice. Rev Ayih called for unity among Christians and urged all those in leadership positions to put the interest of the nation ahead of their individual ambitions and comfort. 2 April 10
