Accra, March 21, GNA - Christians were on Friday urged to approach God with sincere hearts and the assurance that He is more than able to provide their needs.
"We must approach God with pure hearts and full of faith for He is trustworthy as He has promised."
Delivering his Good Friday sermon at the Calvary Methodist Church in Accra, the Very Reverend Thomas Forson, Superintendent Minister of the Church asked Christians to be firm in the faith that they profess and not waver no matter the circumstance they might find themselves in since God took great interest in such people. Preaching on the theme: "The meaning of Christ's suffering" and the quotation from Hebrews 10: 22 and 23", he said the death and the suffering of Christ should be meaningful in their lives and also draw them nearer to God at all times.
"Draw near to God at all times because he is the only solution to all problems and believe in Him for he is faithful," he added. He said Christ suffered to pay for all sins and that sacrifice meant victory for all His followers. Reverend Forson said the sacrifice on the cross by Jesus Christ was one for reconciliation and a symbol of our union with Him. "The day of the crucifixion by Jesus Christ was a great day of hope for the world and on that day, our redemption was made possible. Also His blood was shed to wash away our sins." He called on all Christians to show their appreciation to Christ for His suffering on the cross by being obedient to Him and all His teachings.
As the presidential and parliamentary elections approach, the Superintendent Minister said Ghanaians should be united and tolerant of one another's views for peace to prevail in the country both before and after the elections.
"Let all of us have ears for each others opinion and also uphold the adage of unity in diversity", he added.
