Christians have been urged to emulate the example of Jesus Christ by cultivating the habit of forgiving without keeping records of the wrongs forgiven and occasionally refer to them each time a similar offence is committed.

This way they will holistically manifest the proclamation of Jesus to non believers who may find it hard to forgive unlike Jesus Christ who pardoned the two criminals even at the point of death at Golgota.

Metropolitan Archbishop of Tamale Most Reverend Philip Naameh in a Easter Homily advised Christians against seeking shortcuts to their problems but rather depend on God who works according to his own time.

According to him, it was common among Christians of present to resort various unapproved means of having their challenges addressed noting that God in such times withdraw his presence.

It is in this light the Catholic Bishop advised against scouting for God’s evidence before believing his capabilities explaining that he had all the power in the world to resurrect believers from their troubles when they are overburdened.

Dwelling his sermon on John 16, he said believers needed to maintain faith even in tough times just like the disciple John who is considered as one of the few persons who kept faith with Jesus even at the point of death.

He charged Christians to give God a chance in their lives in order for him to lift them from their predicaments reiterating the fact that Easter marks the celebration of faith and would therefore be meaningless if Christians wavered in their belief.

Christ’s Victory over death through his resurrection three days after crucifixion as catalogued by the various gospels in the bible he emphasized presents a character of a model of faith for all Christians.

New comers to the church were confirmed into during the Eucharistic celebrations and charged to live in accordance with the tenants of Jesus Christ whose death and resurrection has brought hope and a new life to all Christians.

Other Churches throughout the country are marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ with church services while others climaxed theirs with Easter Conventions with a hope of renewed spirit following the resurrection of Christ.
