Christians urged to overcome division

The Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Internal Province of West Africa, the Most Reverend Professor Daniel Yinkah-Sarfo, has urged Christians to overcome division and unhealthy competition.

They should hold together in faith to spread the gospel and bring salvation to the people. He was delivering a sermon at the consecration and re-dedication of the refurbished Saint Andrew’s the Apostle Anglican Church at Jachie in the Bosomtwe District.

He was assisted to perform the ceremony by the Most Rev Dr Justice Ofei Akrofi, Emeritus Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Province. The Jachie church, established in 1914, has eight out-stations and these are at Akwaduo, Nuaso, Apinkra, Adunku, Mim, Pipie, Adwafo, Pramso and Esaase.

The Most Rev Prof Yinkah-Sarfo used the occasion to posthumously honour three personalities with citations– the late Rev Father John Ofori-Akrofi, under whose watch the chapel was constructed in 1965, the late Jachiehene, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng III, and the late Nana Kwaku Asamoah, Jachie Nkosuohene.

The citations paid tribute to the invaluable contribution they made to the church’s growth in the area.

The Most Rev Prof Yankah-Sarfo said there was every reason to celebrate the good works of people, helping in diverse ways to plant churches and bring God’s message of hope to people.

He advised the congregation to stay focused and work with renewed energy to promote the church’s ministry, calm tension, bring peace and unite the people.

He thanked those, who sacrificed their resources to refurbish the structure and said it was his prayer that those who entered the place to worship would publicly bear witness to their faith.
