Christians urged to refrain from immoral values

The Reverend Erasmus Amankwaah Addo, General Overseer of Believers Family Evangelistic Ministry, has called on Christians to open a new chapter by refraining from immoral values and other acts, which hinder national development.

He noted that Christians would be doing disservice to the nation if they do not allow the teachings of Jesus Christ to reflect on their daily lives.

Rev Addo made the call when delivering his Christmas message in Accra on Thursday.

He said as a Christian,” you have to explain the teachings of Jesus Christ instead of creating the impression that His birth was meaningless”.

Rev Addo who is also the Chief Executive Officer of High Grade Driving Institute, attributed the country’s socio-economic woes to Christians mad rush to monetary gains instead of seeking their spiritual well-being.

Today, he said the Christianity, one way or the other, is more of traditional practitioner than what the scripture teaches.

He said: “The five-fold ministry is now thrown apart as we all want to be prophets, an area where it is considered to be lucrative.

“As we remember the birth of Christ, let us reflect and go back to the scripture and live by it.

“‘It is time we clear the mess in our lives as Jesus clears the temple.”

The General Overseer said it is time for Christians to seek the Kingdom and its righteousness and all other things will be added on to them.

Rev Addo urged religious leaders to use the pulpit to educate their members on government’s policies and programmes.

He appealed to politicians to ensure that there is peace in the country and advised them to desist from giving promises they could not deliver.
