Christians urged to trust in God

The Achimota Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Joseph Assabil, has entreated Christians to trust in God’s faithfulness and wait to receive their blessings from Him.

Admitting that trials and temptations are inevitable, he advised Christians not to lose hope in God, adding that, “With God, nothing shall be impossible.”

According to Apostle Assabil, delay is one of the things God uses to test the faith of His children and cautioned Christians to stop giving God an ultimatum.

“God does not matter how long a Christian may have to stay in difficulties since in His owntime He will make everything beautiful,” he stated when delivering a sermon to climax the 2016 Christmas Convention of The Church of Pentecost, Doblo Gonno District within the Achimota Area on Sunday December 25, 2016.

The Achimota Area Head observed that God lives in the atmosphere of faith, stressing that, it was important for Christians to hold on to their faith in their quest to overcome the machinations of the devil.

He used the occasion to advise Christians to show appreciation to God for allowing His only begotten son to be born to save mankind from sin.

“God has shown love to mankind by giving us His son, Jesus Christ, to be born for us,” he said, entreating Christians to use the testimonies of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist,among others in the Bible, to build their faith.

The Convention was held from Thursday December 22nd to Sunday December 25th, 2016 at Doblo Gonno Town Park under the theme: “With God, Nothing Shall Be Impossible.” (Luke 1:37).

Members from the various assemblies within the newly created Doblo Gonno District namely Doblo Gonno Central, Estate, Miracle, KKMAN, AKMAN, Oduntia, Onyansana, Ardeyman, English, Victory, and Liberty Assembly participated fully in the event.

The joy of the congregation was so great. The Convention was held on Thursday Evening, Friday Morning and Evening, Saturday Morning and Evening and Sunday Morning being the climax.

The morning sessions were earmarked for teachings and prayers, whiles the Evening ones were dedicated to the preaching of the gospel. There was also a Carol/ Worship Night Competition among the Local Assemblies. Estate Assembly emerged the winner and took home a Cash Prize of 500 Cedis, donated by Probationary Overseer Felix Dela Klutse, the District Overseer of Doblo Gonno and his wife.

The money is expected to be used to support the local assembly. The success of the convention, apart from the above activities, could also be attributed to the various speakers, who gave inspiring sermons to lift up the spirit and faith of those present. Some of the members received spiritual gifts with few of them receiving healing.

In addition, there was a life-changing testimonies from members. Opening the convention on Thursday, Probationary Overseer Felix Dela Klutsewarned Ghanaians against false teachings and also encouraged them to seek God first in all things.

He was grateful to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, the Achimota Area Head, Apostle Joseph Assabil and his wife, and the District Executives for the meritorious roles they have played before, during the Convention.

“We also wish to applaud the entire membership for their prayers, sacrifices and commitment towards the success of the Convention,” he added.
