Church building school at Mateheko

Mataheko, Dangme West, April 20, GNA-- The Miracle Life Gospel Church at Tema is building a senior secondary school complex, at Mataheko in the Dangme West District of the Greater Accra Region, at a total cost of 23.5 billion cedis.

Classrooms and other structures are partially ready and admission of first batch of students for the educational institution, to be known as the Life International School, was expected to begin in September this year.

Reverend Dr. Gordon Kisseih, the General Overseer of the Church, who disclosed these, said the school would be provided with all the necessaries facilities but in phases to enable it to provided good quality education.

These would include computer and science laboratories, documentation and research facilities, administration block, staff accommodation, and hostels for students among others.

Rev. Dr. Kesseih was speaking at a sod cutting ceremony at the site of the school on Thursday.

He said in line with the motto of the Church, "faith, purity and excellence", the school would in addition to normal academic curricula teach religion, moral education and instil discipline into the students to mould their character.

Rev. Dr Kesseih praised the 2006 best national farmer, Mr Mohammed Tetteh Akpah for releasing 20 acres of land for the construction of the school building.

Mr Adjowerh Nortey, Dangme West District Chief Executive, appealed to the people to consider the school as their property, and to ensure that their children benefited from the facility. He noted that education was the best legacy a parent could bequeath to his children. The Mankralo of Prampram, Nene Atsure Benta 111, expressed the community's gratitude to the Church for contributing to the development of education in the district.
