Church renders social service to community

Tepa (Ash), June 23, GNA - The Church of Pentecost at Tepa West District on Saturday climaxed their Pentecost and Social Services Week Celebration with a three-hour clean-up exercise at Tepa District Hospital and donation of provisions and food items worth three hundred Ghana Cedis to the hospital patients.

Tepa (Ash), June 23, GNA - The Church of Pentecost at Tepa West District on Saturday climaxed their Pentecost and Social Services Week Celebration with a three-hour clean-up exercise at Tepa District Hospital and donation of provisions and food items worth three hundred Ghana Cedis to the hospital patients. As part of the church's service to the community, they painted Tepa Post Office at the cost of 200 Ghana Cedis. Speaking at the ceremony, Pastor Philip Appoh, the District Pastor said, as Christians, their concern is for the well-being of the people as demonstrated by Jesus Christ during his earthly ministerial work. He said service brings human beings closer to each other and promote affections and friendship hence the decision of the church to set aside one week to render service to the weak, the helpless, the distress and the community. Mr. Benjamin Kuupil, Assistant Administrative Officer of the hospital thanked the church members for their communal spirit and donation to the patients at the hospital. He described the Mutual Health Insurance now operational in Ghana as one of the best social services beneficial to all Ghanaians and urged those who have not registered to join the scheme to do so.
