Clergyman urges Christians to remain faithful to God

Reverend Raymond Osei-Tutu, Parish Priest of the Saint Kizito Catholic Church at Nima, has urged Christians to remain faithful to God and mankind in all their endeavours, for answered desires and aspirations.

Rev. Osei-Tutu said as the year comes to an end, there is the need for all to reflect on the past and ask for forgiveness of our sins as we prepare to enter the New Year with fresh resolutions.

Preaching a sermon in Accra to mark the end of 2014, he implored Christians not to relent in thanking God for the blessings bestowed on mankind, in spite of tribulations or challenges.

He said everything happens for the good of mankind, stressing that, “if God has not been on our side, we would not have been in His presence to worship and give thanks to Him”.

“We need God every hour in our lives to nourish and shield us from unforeseen circumstances, in that we cannot succeed without the power of God.”

Rev. Osei-Tutu said the Church’s theme for 2015 is: “At the Feet of Jesus, there is Healing and Forgiveness,” and urged the congregation to remain steadfast because God would heal them of their diseases and calamities.

He encouraged Christians to be united, and show love to one another, devoid of hatred and mischief, adding that the story of Joseph should challenge believers to adhere to the will of God for success.

The Priest said Joseph was hated by his brothers, and they subjected him to inhuman treatment, but because of the trust he had in God, he was delivered, and reigned over them.

“Let’s all commit ourselves to the service of God, as we enter the New Year, and avoid all negative tendencies, such as stealing, gossip, fornication, adultery and other vices, that affect our relationship with God.”
