Accra, July 17, GNA - Deeper Life Campus Fellowship (DLCF) on Saturday launched this year’s Annual National Campus Community Congress (EXPLO 2011) in Accra.

The congress dubbed “Extraordinary Power For Liberated Overcomers” would start on Wednesday, July 27 and it’s expected to attract 3000 participants throughout the country, including students from all tertiary institutions, lecturers, administrators and doctors, among others.

Pastor Francis Fosu, National Co-ordinator of DLCF said this year’s event sought to tackle pertinent issues, such as homosexuality, abortion, alcoholism armed robbery, nudity and pornography that had engulfed the country, especially in tertiary institutions.

He stated that the EXPLO 2011 was also designed to deal with academic challenges of students, which compelled them to resort to demeaning practices, including offering themselves to lecturers in order to pass their examinations, adding that, “the congress will quip students with time-tested skills for all-round academic success.”

The Congress, according to Pastor Fosu would imbibe in participants the spirit of entrepreneurship, to enable them to set up their own business ventures instead of depending on the public sector for employment after school.

He assured participants of the outpouring of the power of God, which would help liberate them from the bondage of sin, offer opportunities for personal advancement and divine promotion, which would reflect in their personal lives at the end of the programme.

Pastor Michel Kuti-Assadu, Tema Regional Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, who was the Chairman of the event, stated that the solution to the moral decay in society was the word of God and urged all ministers of the gospel to focus their messages on salvation rather than prosperity because the Bible advocated on seeking the Kingdom of God first.

He appealed to government and other authorities to help put in place mechanisms to stop the activities of homosexuality and other evil acts, adding that, anyone who supports such acts would incur the wrath of God.

Pastor Kuti-Assadu called on government to review the educational system to make sure that students who go out of school every year were equipped with entrepreneurial skills to reduce the problem of unemployment in the country.

The Deeper Life Campus Fellowship (DLCF) is an inter-denominational fellowship created by the church to evangelise to the intellectual community of Christ, and as part of the fulfillment of its objectives, the DLCF annually organizes the National Campus Community Congress, which brings together members and serves as a platform for winning souls for the Kingdom of God.
