Senya Beraku (C/R), Sept. 8, GNA - Reverend Emmanuel Essilfie, Minister in charge of Bishop Lartey A.M.E. Zion Church at Senya Beraku, has appealed to leaders of political parties to advise their supporters especially the youth not to do anything that would disturb the peace of the country.

He said Ghanaians needed peace to go about their normal activities to push the nation forward.

Rev. Essilfie made the call when he launched the 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Church at Senya Beraku last Week. The celebration that begins from December 22 to 28, 2008 at Senya Beraku would be under the theme: "Giving thanks to God for 75 years of History and Ministry: Redefining our future". Rev. Essilfie stressed the need for every Ghanaian to contribute his or her quota to promote peace during and after the December general election.

He said without peace, Ghanaians would not be in the position to worship their creator. He paid tribute to chiefs of the area for releasing to the Church a land for a project as well as the late Francis Efum, whose initiative the Church had its branch in the area and a school was established in 1933. Madam Stella Yawson, chairperson of the anniversary committee said Church members would among other things planned, fast and pray for the prosperity of the nation during the celebration. She called on other churches in and around Senya to join them in their celebration to glorify God.
