2026 NEW YEAR MESSAGE TO GHANAIANS BY RT. REV. DR. LT. COL BDK AGBEKO, THE MODERATOR OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE EVANGELICAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, GHANA, AND CHAIRMAN OF THE CHRISTIAN COUNCIL OF GHANA

Dear People of God,

Receive my warmest greetings of peace. As we usher in the Year 2026, I pray that the Lord God Almighty grants us a refreshing beginning filled with hope, joy, peace, and happiness. May His love and righteousness guide our steps, and may we work together to build our beloved nation, Ghana, into a nation of unity, goodness, prosperity, and spiritual growth.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, General Assembly theme for 2026 is, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness, Keep Clean!” This call to cleanliness goes beyond maintaining a clean tidy environment. It is a call to purity of self and character, of heart, mind, and attitude. Cleanliness is holistic, it encompasses our entire being: spirit, soul, and body. It is the foundation for a healthy life and a wholesome environment where God Himself will dwell among us and bless us.

To keep clean is to forgive those who have wronged us, to guard our minds and emotions against evil, to strengthen our faith by trusting fully in God, and to care for our environment so that it remains healthy, beautiful, and worthy of God's Presence.

Remember always: cleanliness is next to godliness. To keep clean is to reflect the nature and goodness of God, to live at peace with all, and to reveal His glory in our lives.

May God bless you, and may He bless our homeland, Ghana. May He help us keep her clean, healthy, and strong. I pray that throughout 2026, the Lord will lead us in the paths of righteousness as we maintain clean hearts, clean environments, clean relationships, and pure worship of Him in spirit and in truth.

May God bless the leadership of our beloved country: the President, the Speaker of Parliament, and the Chief Justice of Ghana. May He grant them wisdom and unity to work together for the good of our nation.

Blessings and peace be with you all. Amen!
