Dr Richard Roberts, President of Oral Roberts University in the United States on Friday observed that Ghana is strategically placed in Africa, hence the need for peace and tranquility in the West African State.
“Ghana holds a strategic place in Africa and the essential thing for Ghanaians is peace, “he stressed in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra.
Dr Roberts is in Ghana to attend a two-day special prayers in Accra being organised by Dr Lawrence Tetteh, Founder of the World Miracle Outreach and an International Evangelist.
“Ghana is like a second home to me and it is a joy to be in Ghana,” he said, adding he has been in and out of Ghana since 1986, prayed for four Heads of State and had set up a medical centre in Accra.
Dr Roberts who lives the country after the prayer session to Congo-Kinshasa for ministration said he would return to Ghana for a crusade and bring with him food for the people and a medical team.
Dr Tetteh called on Ghanaians to pray unceasingly for peace especially “in this crucial times”.
“The peace of Ghana is so critical and as a people we must use every single opportunity to pray for the nation,” he stressed.
The programme would take place at the Girl Guides Headquarters at the Achimota Forest from 1800 hours to 2100 hours on Friday and 0600 hours to 1000 hours on Saturday and it is expected to attract people from all walks of life.
Dr Tetteh called on political leaders to be circumspect in their utterances. He urged Ghanaians to be part of the massive prayer service and bury their differences for the good of the nation.
He said prayer smoothen the heart of men and brings unity.
Dr Tetteh congratulated the Black stars for their performance in the ongoing African Football Confederation Tournament and asked Ghanaians to pray for more victories.
