Ghana's Islamic Community to host Mufti Menk

The Islamic community in Ghana is anxiously waiting for the arrival of one of the most famous Islamic preacher and global icon, Mufti Menk, who is set to visit the country in the coming week.

The renowned cleric is expected to spend three days in the country from July 21-23rd and will be delivering talks on the theme: “Points to Ponder" in Accra, Tamale and Kumasi.

The Accra edition will take place at the Forecourt of the State House at 7pm on the 21st of July, 2017 whilst that of Kumasi will be held at the Central Mosque on 22nd July at 10am and the Tamale event will take place at the Jubilee Park on 23rd July at 10am.

The Zimbabwean-born celebrated Islamic Preacher will also lead the Jummah (Friday) Prayers at the national mosque in Accra and would hold meetings with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharabutu, as well as other Islamic leaders in the country.

Mufti Ismail Menk is one of the most effective Muslim lecturers in the world. He is one of “The Top 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World” since 2010.

He studied Shariah in Madinah, specialised in Jurisprudence in India and holds a Doctorate of Social Guidance from Aldersgate University.

He is loved by millions across the globe who know him for his balanced approach, his deep knowledge, his wisdom and his wit.

He engages in humanitarian and educational activities in Zimbabwe and lectures internationally. He has a very strong social media presence and inspires people from all walks of life to do good, help others and reach out to humanity while preparing for the Hereafter. He is outspoken against terrorism, extremism, intolerance and injustice.

Mufti Menk will be ably supported on this program by Dr Muhammad Salah, a former assistant professor in pharmacology and a PhD holder in Comparative Fiqh. He had his MBA in Islamic Studies from Cloverdale College, Theological Foundation - Indiana, USA. He obtained his BA in Shari‘ah and Islamic Law from the University of Al-Azhar in Egypt and a BA in pharmacology. Dr. Muhammad Salah is working now as the "Religious Adviser" of Huda Satellite TV, one of the world’s leading Islamic Channels broadcasting exclusively in English since 2005. He is the presenter of “Ask Huda” , “Correct Your Recitation” and "Gardens of the Pious" programs, which were rated as the highest viewed programs to be broadcasted by Huda TV. Dr. Salah is one of the well-known Islamic scholars in USA. He led the Islamic Center of Victoria, Texas and founded two Islamic and Arabic schools, namely Iman Stems and the Muslim Generation.

Special guests include the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia, His Eminence Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu, Chief Imam of Ghana and regional ministers and MPs in the regions the events will be held.

Mufti Menk will also as part of his visit, launch his latest book, Motivational Moments on the 20th of July, 2017. The launch is a strictly by invitation event The event which is being organized by the Islamic Ummah of Ghana and powered by Globe Productions, is to expose over 30,000 Ghanaian Muslims to the contemporary knowledge of Islamic studies and its impact in developing the Muslim individual and his/her society and also seeks to uplift the faith of Muslims in Islam and also demystify misconceptions surrounding the religion.
