Ho, March 14, GNA - Reverend Seth Mawutor of the Calvary Baptist Churc= h in Ho, on Sunday called on Ghanaians to develop positive attitude towards each other and work hard towards national development. The clergyman, who made the call at the Volta Regional Thanksgiving Service to climax this year's National Week of Fasting, Prayer and Thanksgiving in Ho, appealed to Ghanaians to be humble to attract God's favour. Rev. Mawutor asked Ghanaians to unite and change their lifestyles saying 93we need to be modest in whatever we do, socially or politically, and let humility be part of our democracy to invite the favour of God." Rev. Mawutor appealed to Christians to pray ceaselessly for all leader= s so that they could lead the country to progress.
Colonel Cyril Necku (Rtd), Deputy Volta Regional Minister, noted that Ghana's journey so far had been one with mistakes in the past having seri= ous implications for its socio-economic advancement. He said the society has been plagued with dishonesty, immorality, greed, indiscipline, bribery and drug trafficking among others, requiring the collective efforts of all to overcome these problems. Col. Necku said the Church as a major stakeholder in nation building should assist in transforming the society. He called on the clergy to instill discipline and virtue in the youth and direct them to take advantage of government's interventions to develo= p their talents.
Col. Necku assured Ghanaians of government's commitment to creating a better Ghana. The gathering prayed for the Presidency, Ministers of State, Members o= f Parliament and Judiciary, the Media and other state officials and the peopl= e of Ghana.
