Suhum (E/R), May 6, GNA - Right Reverend Fredrich Nnuro, Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church, has called on Ghanaians to unite to build a prosperous nation despite their political, ethnic, linguistic, and cultural differences.

He explained that with unity of purpose, nothing could stop them from achieving whatever they set themselves to do. He cited various examples in the Bible and modern society to indicate successes that had been achieved as a result of unity of purpose. Rt. Rev. Nnuro was speaking at the opening of the 31st Annual Synod of the Diocese at Suhum on Thursday.

He called on the various groups in the church to come out with projects and programmes that could help change the fortunes of the diocese. Rt. Rev. Nnuro said the diocese had acquired land in Maamekrobo in the Afram Plains, Dominase and Adasawase for investment in agriculture. Mr Samuel Kwabi, Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District Chief Executive, appealed to the church to set up more vocational schools to train the youth in employable skills to help them earn a decent living. He said if the youth had skill training, many could earn enough money to make a decent living.

He said the assembly had acquired 100 acres of land for farming and was in the process of acquiring a tractor to plough for the youth to start work. Mr Kwabi said the assembly would provide the youth with seeds and agro-chemicals and help them with the marketing of their produce. 06 May 10
