Global Evangelical Church commissions pastors
Eleven pastors of the Global Evangelical Church, have been commissioned and licensed to perform pastoral duties and urged to be shepherds to their flocks instead of advertising themselves for personal gains.
The commissioned pastors who obtained Diplomas in Theology from the Global Theological Seminary of the Church, are: Reverend Ebenezer Senyo Agbeko, a Senior Audit Officer; Rev Nestor Totou Agbenyegah, an Evangelist; Rev Newthings Isaac Agyemang, a Teacher; Rev Sampson Guggisberg Awunyo, a Project Officer and Rev Godwin Kwaku Doku, a Mathematics Teacher.
The rest are, Rev William Kwasi Dzikunoo, a Teacher; Rev Selim Gameli Kwabla Dzikunu, a Headmaster; Rev Winfred Yao Mensah, an Economics Tutor; Rev Samuel Kwame Otitiaku, an Evangelist; Rev Justice Kodjo Sallah, a Lecturer and Rev Mrs Patricia Akpene Aku Tegbe-Agbo, a Journalist and a Chartered Marketer.
They were led by the Synod Clerk of the Church, Rev Prince Tefe to sign their commissioning vows binding them to perform their assigned duties for two years on probation after, which they would be recommended for ordination having performed satisfactorily.
In a sermon, Rt Rev Dr Edem Tettey, Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, reminded the newly commissioned pastors of three essential principles to guide them: service to humility, preaching the truth, thus the word of God and being focused.
He entreated them to be exemplary by demonstrating good leadership, putting themselves at the disposal of and fervently serving their congregants instead of asking their members to serve them.
The Moderator urged them not to depend on their educational status, academic qualifications and experience to the detriment of their calling, but on the Holy Spirit to lead them.
Rt Rev Tettey chastised pastors who fight for positions, regard the ministry as a personal property and want to make name for themselves, to desist from such acts, adding that "it is God who raises one as one does what he or she is supposed to do".
"We must be bold as preachers to point out what is wrong and what is right. We must preach messages which will sometimes make people feel uncomfortable to enable them to repent from their evil ways," he said.
Rev Tegbe-Agbo who is also the Public Relations Manager of the Church and the Course Representative, on behalf of her colleague pastors, was appreciative to God who called them, equipped them and also commissioned them for the work of ministry.
She thanked God for also protecting them and their families during their time of pastoral training.
Rev Tegbe-Agbo was also grateful for the love and care shown to them by their tutors, families, friends and loved ones during and after their studies.
