The Wesley Cathedral Methodist Men’s Fellowship has inducted newly elected officers, with a call to them to do more to aid the youth to be God-fearing and step back from anything immoral and indecent.

Mr. George Opare Baidu, the Connexional Chairman, said they should focus on giving strong protection to the young people through proper guidance and counseling.

He said as Christian men, they should become good examples and inspire them to lead productive and meaningful lives.

The 12-member executive to run the affairs of the Fellowship for three years, is under the Chairmanship of Mr. Maxwell Moses Appiah.

The other officers include Mr. Emmanuel Asante, Vice-Chairman, Mr. Anthony Acheampong, Secretary, Mr. Ernest Frimpong, Treasurer, and Mr. Timothy Aggrey, Public Relations Officer.

The induction ceremony coincided with the celebration of the Methodist Men’s Day – an event held every year to highlight the responsibilities of men in the family, the church, and the society.

Mr. Baidu encouraged the Fellowship to organize leadership and mentoring sessions, talk shows and employable skills training for the young people in the church.

It should be mindful of the challenges faced by the present youth generation and help them to avoid pitfalls.

He added that everything should be done to shield them from peer pressure influence.

He said the expectation was that the newly sworn in officers would strengthen the internal structures of the Fellowship to give it a new direction.

Mr. Appiah pledged to work hard and with passion to grow the church and bring salvation to more people.

He said they would also vigorously continue the various development projects, and programmes started by their predecessors.
