¦One Suspect Bailed, Others On-The-Run
The over-flogged issue of a rumpus within the MUSAMA DISCO CHRISTO CHURCH that has been championed many times over by THE SUN without support from established authority, heightened to a crescendo with the discovery of at least one human head in the room of a notorious lad, said to be in the good books of the dethroned Akaboha III, Miritaiah Jonah Jehu-Appiah.
The chap whose name is being withheld by the Eshiem Police, whose dutiful officers of Sergeant Mumuni and Asiedu are said to be neck-deep in investigations, is said to have haboured the head for weeks according to concerned Musamans, who suspect that tests could prove it belongs to a chief nurse, one Reverend Owusu who used to man the Church’s dispensary until he vanished beyond trace early this year.
Last Friday, just days after the annual PEACE FESTIVAL held solemnly by the mainstream Church and attended by a steady stream of the most dedicated congregants of the Church from all walks of life, hints suddenly flew like sparks into the sky with the frightening disclosure and find. According to eye-witnesses, the Eshiem Police which in times past has been accused of flirting with the God-forsaken wing of the Church where the dethroned Akaboha holds some sway of some sort, rounded up a trio of suspects including one Cann who used to live in Miritaiah’s compound for the offence. Two others are said to have escaped the watchful eyes of the Police and took to their heels, falling over woodlots and cassava sticks in nearby bushes and yet keeping the pace of the acceleration. A milling crowd followed the arrested member of the Mozano compound yelling for his blood, as they recounted how a number of Musamans notably a 92-year old man and one prophetess, Abena Awodua and lately Reverend Owusu vamoosed without trace whatsoever for standing up against the immoral life of Miritaiah. Incidentally these trio of persons had displayed open support for the dethronement of the defrocked defrocked Miritaiah Jehu Appiah, who has a string of sordid sexual affairs, some bordering on rapes against minors and older women on his dossier.
Over the past years in 2002 when a lowly social newspaper broke one of his numerous scandals to the public, agents of the defrocked Romeo who alleges he too is a prophet have never given the mainstream Church any peace. With cash in their accounts and buffoonery as their trump card, they have chosen to misconduct themselves year after year, often using established authorities to intimidate members of the Musama Church.
Last year, former Central regional Minister Ato Arthur was the conduit through which the mainstream Musama Church suffered various forms of harrassment and intimidation. In one of his foolish tirades, Arthur dared a Minister of the Church Prophet Alexius Houbamoulda Jehu Appiah to dare open his mouth at the Cape Coast Regional office so he could have him locked. With the NDC in power Mr. Arthur who styles himself with the tag NANA even though he has no subjects to rule over has chosen to keep a low profile acknowledging the face that when the cat is in charge, the mice dare not malinger around for he himself could well end up a game in the itchy jaws of Mr. Cat. The Minister has been in the bad books of the congregants of the Church who witnessed his ordering close to a 1000 Police men to descend on the skeletal populace in the township during a PEACE FESTIVAL, some two years ago.
As late as two months ago, a notorious Customs Officer whose name is being withheld for now, fired gunshots for no reason whatsoever except to spread fear among inhabitants of the township. Quite apart from that roguish elements from Swedru hired by the disgruntled group, only recently invaded the Church to cart away pews and podiums made in the 1960s.
“The skull find is therefore a test case for the Eshiem Police to showcase to the whole world that with the arrival of a new government, they have indeed turned tail and therefore they would investigate the matter to the very logical end,†a worried Musaman told THE SUN.
It will be recalled that this very year, both the High Court and the Appeal Court of justice have established with judgments the fact that Miritaiah dare not hold himself out as leader of the Musama Disco Christo Church especially with those erotic displays against minors and older women. THE SUN
