I was a devoted Buddhist - Agyin Asare

The founder of the Perez Chapel International Bishop Charles Agyinasare has revealed that he was a devoted Buddhist for many years.

According to him, his love for the Japanese type of Buddhism was nurtured in the secondary school even though he had a christian background..

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday, the charismatic evangelist said he was deep into the Buddhism before he eventually met Christ.

“At a point in secondary school, I left my initial training. I picked up Buddhism and I was deep into it for many years. I practiced Buddhism for four years and i was very devoted,” he said.

He, however, added that his journey into Christ began when he pursued a lady into the church with the intention of going out with her after church service.

“I had followed her to the church with the hope of taking her out after the service. I had smoked heavily and was just waiting for them to close but it was there that I first heard about God and repentance and since then, I have not looked back and my life has never been the same”.

Agyinasare who was ordained as a missionary in 1981 received a national award – the Member of the Order of the Volta (MV) – in 2007 by former President John Agyekum Kufuor, for his outstanding achievements in championing African excellence as a religious leader.

He was recently awarded The Global Leadership Award from Regent University, USA by Professor Clifton Clarke in recognition of his efforts in raising leaders across the world and for his impact across the globe.
